OnState Communications Inc., a provider of virtual call center software based on voice-over-Internet protocol (VoIP), has raised $5.5 million of a planned $9.2 million round, according to federal documents.
Lincoln-based OnState took an initial $4.6 million tranche of the funding round — then valued at $5.25 million — in March. No new directors or executives were named in the latest filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, but the number of investors jumped from eight to 32, the document noted.
In January of 2008, OnState signed a deal to integrate its call center VoIP technology with Skype, adding to the platforms it already supported, including standard phone systems, mobile phones, SIP, Salesforce and Google.
OnState, founded in 2004 by CEO Pat Kelly and GeoTel Communications Corp. founder Wayne Andrews, had previously worked with Skype parent company eBay Inc. as part of the online auction company’s customer communications portal for eBay-based businesses.
