An online directory promoting Massachusetts businesses is being unveiled today by the Associated Industries of Massachusetts and Massachusetts: It’s All Here, a public-private marketing campaign for the state. The directory initiative was announced this morning at Roxbury Technology by Gregory Bialecki, Secretary of Housing & Economic Development; Richard Lord, CEO of AIM; and Elizabeth Williams, president and CEO of Roxbury Technology.

The BuyMass.org directory is intended to promote potential business and job opportunities within the state — and attract and retain talent, jobs and businesses in Massachusetts. The directory lists more than 8,500 businesses from manufacturing and biotechnology, among other industries, and provides “several thousand” free listings to women-owned and minority-owned businesses certified through the State Office of Minority and Women Business Assistance.

As part of the directory, listings will include companies with current job openings.

Massachusetts: It’s All Here was launched in 2003 as a partnership between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, MassDevelopment, MassEcon, Massachusetts International Trade Council and the State Department of Business and Technology.
