Dynamics Research wins USAF cyberspace deal

By Brendan Lynch

Dynamics Research Corp. reports it has landed $3.4 million from the U.S. Air Force for engineering and program management.

Under the deal, Dynamics Research (Nasdaq: DRCO) will work on the Air Force’s Global Cyberspace Integration Center, providing engineering services and program management support to the Air Combat Command Tactical Satellite Terminals and the Single Integrated Air Picture program.

The deal includes a base period of one year and two one-year options.

The order is the company’s first award under the U.S. Department of Defense Logistics, Maintenance and Supply Support (LMSS) contract. Last year, Dynamics Research was one of six prime contractors awarded the LMSS contract to provide lifecycle management services across Defense Department agencies. The five year LMSS contract has a ceiling value for all contractors of $268 million.

Last month, Dynamics Research won a $1.4 million subcontract from QinetiQ North America to provide recommendations for the redesign of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service’s Agriculture Quarantine Activity System (AQAS). Under the deal, the Andover-based company will work with QinetiQ to redesign AQAS to improve the workflow, data sharing and data analysis of the office’s Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) program, which is intended to safeguard agriculture and natural resources from pests and noxious weeds.

Dynamics Research was founded in 1955. The company reported a net loss of $1.25 million on revenue of $242.8 million for fiscal 2008.
