Security
Veracode Inc. has named Gary Vilchick  as the company’s chief financial officer. Recently, as CFO of SupplyScape, Vilchick was responsible for all of their financing activity, including successfully closing two rounds of venture funding. He previously served as CFO of Endeca, and earlier was CFO at Spyglass, an early Internet browser technology company and one of the earliest publicly traded Internet companies. Vilchick also held several financial management positions at Pitney Bowes, including VP of finance for a software division.

Waltham-based Q1 Labs has named Christopher Poulin to the new position of chief security officer, Gary Ochs as vice president of business development, and Iven Connary as security intelligence specialist. Poulin comes from his own security consulting practice, and was the founder of FireTower Inc.  Earlier in his career he spent eight years at the U.S. Department of Defense. Ochs joined Q1 Labs in May 2004 as a regional sales manager in Chicago, and was promoted to director of business development in November 2006. Prior to Q1 Labs, Ochs worked at ArcSight and Symantec.  Earlier in his 20-year career he held various sales positions at Kana Communications, New Oak/Bay Networks, Raptor Systems and Wellfleet/Bay Networks. Connary joins the company from IBM Corp. where he was chief software architect for Tivoli Security Operations Manager. Previously, Connary was a co-founder and CTO of GuardedNet. Earlier, he was a security architect at the Georgia Technology Authority.


Education
The University of Massachusetts has named Ken Udas as CEO of UMassOnline. Udas was most recently the executive director of Penn State World Campus, the Pennsylvania State University distance education program. Previously, he was director, SUNY Learning Network, The State of New York Systems Administration in Albany, N.Y. Earlier, for two years, Udas was E-Learning Director at The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand, and for approximately a year prior to that he was director, Distance Learning Network for the USAID Project based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Udas has also worked for Spotfire Inc., Harcourt Higher Education, Texas A&M University and Salem State College. As an educator, Udas has worked for The Pennsylvania State University; University of Maryland University College; F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, Babson College; Univerzita Komenského, Bratislava, Slovak Republic; International University of Vienna; and the University of Pittsburgh.

Wentworth Institute of Technology has named Robert Bateman as its inaugural executive-in-residence for the institute’s management program. Bateman brings 37 years of experience in global technology and project management to the management program. He will work directly with students and create opportunities in business and industry for current and future students to gain experience and build critical networks.


Services

Framingham-based Everything Channel has promoted Rauline Ochs to senior vice president and managing director of its channel intelligence, program development and education business, IPED. Prior to Everything Channel, Ochs was executive vice president of sales, distribution and marketing for Safeco Corp. Earlier, she was senior vice president, North America alliances and channels for Oracle Corp. Ochs also led worldwide channels at BEA Systems and North American software channels at the IBM Corp.

EnerNOC Inc. (Nasdaq: ENOC), a provider of intelligent energy solutions, announced the appointment of Timothy Weller as chief financial officer. Weller previously served as CFO at Akamai Technologies Inc., as well as telecommunication services equity research analyst at the investment banking firm Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Most recently, he has been an angel investor and advisor to startup companies. Weller has a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois, and a B.S. and M.S. from Michigan State University.


Software

StreamBase Systems Inc. has named Alan Sutherland to the position of senior vice president of customer services at the Lexington-based company. Sutherland’s experience includes director of IT at Salomon Brothers, managing director of technology at UBS and JPMorgan. In 1996 Alan founded Sutherland Consulting which he sold in 2001 to the French conglomerate, Altran. In 1999 Alan co-founded Broker-to-Broker Inc., a financial technology company. In 2004 B2B was acquired by Tradeware Inc. to create Tradeware Global.
