John W. McCain named Keane CEO

By Mass High Tech staff

Charlestown IT consulting giant Keane Inc. has named John W. McCain its new president and CEO.

McCain joins the company having previously worked for Hewlett-Packard Co., most recently as senior vice president and general manager of HP Services. He also headed the North American unit of Cap Gemini, serving as CEO. And prior to that position, he held the role of president of EDS’ E.Solutions business.

McCain will work from Keane’s Charlestown headquarters.

Last month, Keane announced plans to acquire some of the assets of BearingPoint Inc., buying a portion of the bankrupt Dallas, Texas-based government consultant’s U.S. commercial business for undisclosed terms. The company joins Deloitte and Touche LLP and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as a buyer of assets of BearingPoint, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February. Keane chairman and CEO Mani Subramanian said the deal would bring BearingPoint clients and some BearingPoint staff to Keane.

Founded in 1965, Keane has about 12,000 employees worldwide.
