Alternative energy firm Ze-gen names Isaacson CFO
By Mass High Tech staff
Former EnerNOC Inc. chief financial officer Neal Isaacson has taken on the CFO position at Boston-based Ze-gen Inc., which makes systems that convert construction and industrial waste, including metals, into a synthetic gas.
In his previous role at EnerNOC (NASD: ENOC), Isaacson was responsible for directing the company’s venture investments, completing acquisitions, and guiding EnerNOC to its May 2007 IPO and its November 2007 follow-on offering. The EnerNOC IPO won Mass High Tech’s top IPO deal in the 2007 Tech Dealmakers awards program.
Prior to his EnerNOC tenure, Isaacson led the finances of Intrusic Inc. and served as CFO at Ucentric Systems. He also founded, directed and served as CFO of Cignal Global Communications Inc. Isaacson earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts.
At the beginning of 2009, Ze-gen closed on a $20 million Series B round of funding, which the company said would be used to commercially deploy its technology.
