The Pitch: The company is looking for funding to increase marketing efforts and hire a sales staff.

PITCHING THE TECHNOLOGY
LEED Linc says it helps architects, building owners and contractors meet the standards for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. The company teaches LEED concepts and practices to corporations and individuals preparing for the LEED Accredited Professional exam who don’t have the resources to have LEED staff in-house. LEED Linc also provides consulting services to contractors working on LEED projects. The company’s group of experts includes architects, engineers, contractors educators and consultants to help builders with their LEED projects.

Who is on the management team? Carole DeMarco Alon, president, formerly of North Fork Bank; Brian Sutton, vice president operations, former CEO of Sutco Corp./RAJ Custom Builders.

Who is on the board of advisers? Bill Bean of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Green Coaching and Planning and Whitaker Associates; Steve Beck of LeChase Construction Services LLC; and Oliver Holmes of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Williams College.

PITCHING THE BUSINESS
How much money is being sought? LEED Linc says it is seeking at least $100,000 in funding.

What partnerships, collaborations or affiliations are already in place? The company says it has partnerships with the U.S. Green Building Council and USGBC New York Upstate Chapter

What’s the market size being pursued? LEED Linc says its targeting the $3 billion construction market, the $5 billion existing building market and the $1 billion education market.

Who are the likely competitors, direct or indirect?
LEED Linc says it competes with companies such as Steven Winter Associates Inc. in LEED consulting and certification management and with companies such as Everblue Energy and CleanEdison LLC in LEED training.

Is the company profitable? No.
