
Analogic Corp. founder and former president and CEO Bernard M. Gordon has resigned from the company, effective immediately.
The reason for the octogenarian’s resignation was not given.
Gordon, 81, was chairman of Analogic, a developer of data-imaging and processing technologies, from 1969 through 2004. He served as the company’s president from 1980 through 1995 and then again from October 2001 through April 2003. Gordon was Analogic’s CEO from 1973 through 2000 and again from February 2002 through August 2003.
Gordon has served in a number of director positions, and is chairman of the Lahey Clinic, a physician-led nonprofit medical practice in Burlington.
Analogic (Nasdaq: ALOG) develops signal and image processing for medical diagnostics and security markets. In January, the company announced plans to cut nine percent of its staff, about 140 jobs, due to economic conditions. The work force reduction was expected to save Analogic about $9.6 million annually, company fficials reported.
Peabody-based Analogic posted a net gain of $23.5 million on total annual revenue of $413.5 million in 2008.
