Allot Communications plants North American HQ in Woburn

By Rodney H. Brown

Allot Communications Ltd., an Israeli IP services provider, reports it has relocated its North American headquarters from Minnesota to Woburn.

The company, which provides IP service optimization solutions for DSL, wireless and mobile broadband carriers, service providers and enterprises based on deep packet inspection, is now located in the new TradeCenter 128 building. Prior to the move, Allot (Nasdaq: ALLT) had its North American headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minn.

The new location includes product demonstration, training and laboratory facilities, and holds a regional sales, marketing, operations and technical support staff of approximately 12 workers.

In addition to the move, Allot announced it has landed four new operators throughout North and South America during the first quarter of 2009. While the company did not disclose the names of the new customers, it did say they include two major mobile operators and a major North American carrier.

Among Allot’s local competitors in the deep packet inspection market are Lexington-based Arbor Networks Inc., which got DPI technology from its acquisition of New Hampshire’s Ellacoya Networks Inc. in February of 2008.
