NMT Medical names Richard Davis to board
By Mass High Tech staff
Richard Davis, chief operating officer of Boston-based device maker NMT Medical Inc., has been appointed to the company’s board of directors.
Davis has held a nine-year tenure at NMT. Prior to his promotion to chief operating officer this year, Davis worked as NMT’s chief financial officer and corporate secretary for eight years. Before joining NMT, he served as vice president and CFO of solid-state laser system maker Q-Peak Inc. Davis has also held various financial roles at TJX Companies Inc.
In April, NMT named Frank Martin as its permanent president and CEO. Martin had been serving as interim president and CEO following the February retirement of former president and CEO John Ahern. At the time, Martin said that he plans to transition NMT’s focus on research and development to one emphasizing the sales and marketing of its BioSTAR bioabsorbable septal repair implant for the heart.
NMT Medical (Nasdaq: NMTI) develops implant technologies that treat structural heart disease using minimally invasive, catheter-based procedures.
