Lowell-based wireless instrumentation and design company Auriga Measurement Systems LLC reports that it has raised $2.75 million in what it describes as a seed funding round.
While the company did not release any details of the funding, it did say it will use the proceeds to create a commercial wireless product based on its high-power, high-efficiency power amplifier modules which its sells to federal government customers.
In 2007, Auriga landed $1.5 million from Ohio-based White Oak Partners Inc. in a second round. At the time, Auriga boasted it was cash-flow positive and profitable since 2005 and had big-name customers such as South Portland, Maine’s Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc., Maryland’s BAE Systems Inc. and Waltham-based Raytheon Co.
In November of 2007, Auriga brought tech veteran Bruce Cohen on board as CEO, replacing co-founder Dave Menzer, who moved to the CTO role. In May of 2008, Auriga replaced Menzer as CTO, naming founder Yusuke Tajima to the role. Tajima had previously served as director of modeling and design at the company.
