Framingham-based Courion Corp. yesterday announced it will open a research and development facility in Pune, India. The identity and access management software maker’s India Technology Center will work to double the company’s existing library of connectors, which now integrate more than 160 applications, Courion said in a press release.
The press release specifically mentioned efforts to improve support for the health care, financial services and manufacturing industries.
The company said its new India facility is an expansion of its research and development division, not an offshore displacement of its current program, which is based in Framingham. The new center will not create any layoffs, the company said.
In February, Courion reported a 30 percent increase in 2008 fourth-quarter sales over the same quarter in 2007, as well as double-digit revenue growth for 2008.
The company, founded in 1996, has raised at least $32 million in five rounds of capital from investors including Paladin Capital Group, JMI Equity and Questmark Partners.
