EMC Corp. (NYSE: EMC) will acquire Configuresoft Inc., a Colorado Springs, Colo.-based company making server configuration, change and compliance management software, the Hopkinton-based information infrastructure company reported.
The transaction is set to close in June. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but EMC stated the deal will not impact revenue or earnings per share for the 2009 fiscal year.
According to EMC’s release, the company was already receiving original equipment from Configuresoft to produce its EMC Server Configuration Manager and EMC Configuration Analytics Manager –- products designed to help companies adopt and manage virtual infrastructure. Configuresoft was founded in 1999, EMC stated.
When the acquisition is complete, Configuresoft will become part of EMC’s Resource Management Software Group, according to EMC.
Earlier this month, EMC competitor Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL) announced the pending acquisition of Virtual Iron Inc., a Lowell-based maker of server virtualization management software.
