OmniPresence slam-dunks videoconferencing deal with Celtics
By Mass High Tech Staff
Marlborough-based audio and video teleconferencing company OmniPresence Inc. has landed the position of the official video conferencing and audio visual solutions partner for the Boston Celtics.
OmniPresence will build a video conferencing and AV system into the Celtics’ Larry Bird Conference Room, according to officials. The Celtics will get video conferencing capability in their front office out of the deal, and OmniPresence will get to use the installation as a showcase for potential clients.
No financial details of the arrangement were released, but it does include the allowance of OmniPresence to use the Celtics marks.
According to OmniPresence officials, this is its first-ever team corporate partnership, and the Celtics’ first partnership with a videoconferencing company.
For their part, the Celtics say they are also planning to use the new teleconferencing systems in their community relations efforts.
OmniPresence was founded in 2002 by Tom Wing, OmniPresence’s president and CEO, and CTO Tim Hill. Wing came from SIP Communications and Hill came from PictureTel.
