Finance
M/C Venture Partners, a venture capital firm focused on the communications, media, and information technology sectors with offices in Boston and San Francisco, has promoted David Ingraham and Edmund Kim from senior associate to the position of vice president. Ingraham focuses on investments in alternative advertising, marketing services, information services, new and traditional media, and collocation services. Prior to joining M/C Venture Partners in 2006, Ingraham worked at Veronis Suhler Stevenson, a media-focused private equity fund in New York. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College and his MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. Kim focuses on investments in digital and traditional media, broadband services, wireless infrastructure and wireless services. Prior to joining M/C Venture Partners in 2007, Kim worked in the investment banking group at Merrill Lynch in Toronto. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a bachelor’s degree and received an MBA from Harvard Business School.


Services
The accounting and financial services firm Grant Thornton LLP has named Scott Levy managing partner of the Boston office. Prior to joining the Boston office, Levy served as the assistant managing partner of the New York Cluster of the firm. He previously served as partner-in-charge of Grant Thornton’s New Jersey office, and also served as the New York Assurance Practice Leader. Levy has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting, and has extensive experience in assisting companies in raising capital in the public and private markets.


Life sciences
Verisk Health Inc., a health care data analytics firm in Waltham, has appointed Nathan Gunn as chief medical officer. Gunn will manage scientific and clinical research operations, develop and maintain clinical content and intellectual property, and oversee the clinical content of Verisk Health software products. Prior to joining Verisk Health, Gunn was the senior vice president of Clinical Solutions at D2Hawkeye, which merged with Verisk Health, a subsidiary of ISO, in January of 2009. Before joining D2Hawkeye, Gunn served at McKinsey and Co.

PHT Corp., a Boston-based provider of e-Diary technology for the biopharmaceutical industry, has hired John J. Arcari as chief financial officer. Previously Arcari was a CFO consultant with Tatum LLC, an executive financial services and consulting firm. He also was CFO at CRF Inc., Organogenesis, and LTX Corp. Arcari received his MBA in finance, and bachelor’s degree from New Mexico State University.

Peter Gardiner has joined BG Medicine Inc. of Waltham as vice president, medical affairs and senior medical officer. Gardiner has served as medical director, global medical affairs and senior medical officer for Bristol-Myers Squibb Medical Imaging. Prior to BMS, he served as vice president, medical affairs for DuPont’s Medical Imaging business. Gardiner has held clinical research and medical affairs positions with Gensia Inc and GD Searle & Co. in both the United States and the United Kingdom.


Associations

Leanne Diggett has joined Providence, R.I.-based industry group Tech Collective as manager of community development. Focusing on the information technology and bioscience industries, Diggett will develop the technology community and work force through membership services, event management and networking opportunities. Diggett is a graduate of the University of Tampa, working for The Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am PGA Champions Tour event and the New England Patriots prior to joining Tech Collective.


Alternative energy
Lowell-based solar energy company Konarka Technologies Inc. has hired Therese Jordan as vice president of business development. Previously, Jordan was global marketing director at Victrex PLC, a provider of high-performance polymer materials. She spent 15 years at General Electric Co. in various capacities including global market director, polymer physicist, product developer and quality leader. Jordan holds a doctorate in polymer science from the University of Connecticut and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Tufts University.
