PITCHING THE TECHNOLOGY
Zweave makes product lifecycle management software. The company says its software is designed by veterans of the apparel and defense industry, and is intended to replace e-mail, fax machines and spreadsheets as tools for quickly bringing products to market. Zweave’s software-as-a-service product is intended to be used for the design, sourcing and manufacturing of clothing, footwear, textiles and other related products.

David Buck, CTO and chairman; and Laura McCann, president and CEO.

Buck sold Advis Inc. to Primix Solutions Corp. in 1998.

Zweave is seeking $1.5 million in equity funding.

What partnerships, collaborations or affiliations are already in place? The company says it has partnerships with SAP AG, IBM Corp., MRK HostWindow Inc., OptiTex International, Optimyze LLC, TransWeave Inc., WhichPLM.com, Productive Solutions LLC and TBC Unlimited Inc.

List any federal or state grants, contracts or awards received: The company says it has received eight contracts from the U.S. Department of Defense.

What’s the market size being pursued? The company describes its market as $14 billion in the consumer products product lifecycle management market.

Who are the likely competitors, direct or indirect? Zweave says direct competition comes from companies such as Siemens AG, Parametric Technology Corp., Dassault Systemes SA and Centric Software Inc.
