Agiltron leases site in Woburn

Agiltron Inc., a developer and manufacturer of optical components and systems, has signed a lease for more than 10,600 square feet at 12 Cabot Road in Woburn. The new facility, directly across the street from Agiltron’s existing building, is owned by Cummings Foundation Inc. and managed by Cummings Properties LLC. Agiltron represented itself while Cummings Properties’ leasing director Derek Cook represented Cummings Properties in the lease negotiation. Building owner Cummings Foundation is a private operating foundation established in 1986. The foundation owns properties in nine communities around Greater Boston and also operates two large independent and assisted living facilities.
 


Thermo Fisher extends Cummings lease

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., has extended its lease at the Cummings Center in Beverly for more than 107,000 square feet with Cummings Properties LLC. Senior vice president Stephen Cook of Grubb & Ellis Co. represented Thermo Fisher Scientific in its search for space and in the lease transaction. Steve Drohosky, vice president and general manager of the Cummings Center, represented Cummings Properties. Thermo Fisher Scientific is an instrumentation and research products company. At the Cummings Center, Thermo Fisher Scientific develops and manufactures water analysis instruments in a division formerly known as Orion Research.



ServicePoint USA, a Woburn-based document printing and information management company, has leased 27,000 square feet of flex/office space at 5 Commonwealth Avenue in Woburn. Rob Cronin of Lincoln Property Co. represented the landlord, CHK Realty Trust, and procured the tenant. ServicePoint USA, a subsidiary of Spanish firm Service Point Solutions SA, will begin its 7-year tenancy this quarter. The company will be consolidating its Woburn headquarters with its Woburn and Needham print shops.


CB Richard Ellis/New England has brokered five leases totaling approximately 30,000 square feet at Bear Hill Business Park in Waltham on behalf of King Street Properties, a privately owned real estate investment manager. Of those five, three are in the technology or life sciences space. Biopharmaceutical company Oxigene Inc. will occupy space on the second floor of 300 Bear Hill Road, a recently-renovated two-story Class B office building. SDL Enterprise Technology, a provider of Global Information Management (GIM) solutions, will occupy the entire third floor at 69 Hickory Drive, a three-story 22,440 square foot office building overlooking Route 128. Village Fertility Pharmacy, a specialist in fertility medication, will occupy the third floor of 335 Bear Hill Road, a three-story, 32,000 square foot office and laboratory facility. The CBRE team of Alex Plaisted and Steve Murphy represented King Street Properties in all five transactions. SDL Enterprise Technology was represented by Mike Ripp and Matt Siciliano of CBRE; Oxigene was represented by Mike O’Leary and Joe Fallon of DTZ-FHO Partners; and Village Fertility Pharmacy was represented by Elliot Ravech of Elliot & Co LLC.


Alnara Pharmaceuticals Inc. has signed a new 8,787-square-foot office/laboratory lease at 840 Memorial Drive in Cambridge. Colliers Meredith & Grew’s Joe Flaherty, Tucker Hansen and Ben Coffin represented the landlord, The Abbey Group, in the transaction. Edward Fothergill and Dan Sullivan of CresaPartners represented Alnara Pharmaceuticals. Specifics of the lease transaction were not disclosed.


Altman Vilandrie & Co., a strategy consulting firm, has subleased 16,189 square feet of office space from Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos Inc. at 53 State Street in Boston. AV&Co. will relocate from its current Boston location at 2 International Place in May of 2009. Colliers Meredith & Grew’s Tad Lee and Leigh Freudenheim represented Altman Vilandrie in the transaction. Jim Brady of Cushman & Wakefield Inc. represented Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos Inc., the sublandlord.
