News briefs from New England

Associated Industries of Massachusetts has recognized Headwall Photonics of Fitchburg, which provides spectral analysis and wavelength management technologies, with AIM’s Global Award. AIM also gave its Chairman’s Award to Extrusion Technology Inc. of Randolph, a global supplier of extruded aluminum faceplates and mechanical solutions for the telecommunications and networking industry.

Braintree-based Higgins Corp., a distributor of secure photo identification solutions and a Datacard Group dealer, received the Perseverance Award at the annual ISG Spring Dealer Meeting in Florida.

Joe Caruso, a member of the Portsmouth, N.H.-based eCoast Angels Network of investors, has been awarded the annual Leadership in Private Corporate Governance award by the New England Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).

Four companies were recognized for winning the Omega Management Group Corp.’s NorthFace ScoreBoard Awards, honoring excellence in customer service, for a ninth consecutive year. They are Kronos Inc., Haemonetics Corp. JEOL USA Inc. and Hologic Inc.
