Two deals bring Raytheon $245.7 million

Raytheon Co. has landed $245.7 million in two deals from the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy, according to the U.S. Department of defense.
Raytheon’s (NYSE: RTN) Tewksbury-based Integrated Defense Systems unit brought in $217 million from the Navy. Under the deal, a modification to a previously won contract, Raytheon will provide two radar systems for the Zumwalt class destroyer program and the USS Gerald R. Ford.
Work on the deal will be performed in Sudbury and in Morristown, N.J., and is expected to be completed by March 2013.
Raytheon IDS also landed $28.7 million froom the U.S. Army for is rapid aerostat initial deployment (RAID) systems. RAID systems are tower-based sensor systems for surveillance. Work on the deal will be performed in Andover, and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. 
Earlier this week, the Waltham-based defense giant reported that IDS brought in $27 million from the Army’s Aviation and Missile Command for engineering services for the Patriot Air and Missile Defense System. The funding is an add-on to a contract awarded to Raytheon in January, bringing the total value of the deal to $159.2 million.
Earlier this month, Raytheon brought in two deals worth $15.6 million  from the Navy. Under one deal, Raytheon IDS’ Portsmouth, R.I., facility brought in $8.7 million for sonar equipment. IDS’ Tewksbury facility also landed $6.9 million from the Navy to design 100-kilowatt class free electron laser.
Waltham-based Raytheon, with 72,000 employees, reported a 2008 net income of $1.7 billion on revenue of $23.2 billion.
