SBANE names innovation awards semifinalists

The Smaller Business Association of New England reports it has chosen the semifinalists for its 2009 New England Innovation Awards.

Last year’s winners included Billerica-based LED-maker Luminus Devices Inc. and Woburn-based fiber optics maker Agiltron Inc.

Last year’s semifinalists included Global Relief Technologies Inc. of Portsmouth, N.H.; cMarket of Cambridge; Kiva Systems Inc. of Woburn; Revolabs Inc. of Maynard; and Texterity Inc. of Southborough.

The awards are intended to honor New England companies that have taken an innovative idea for a startup and turned it into a successful business. Winners will be announced at the organization’s awards dinner in May.

This years semifinalists include:

• Community Servings Inc., Jamaica Plain

• Electrolyzer Corp, Woburn
• Formulatrix Inc., Waltham
• Globe Composite Solutions Inc., Rockland
• HDM Systems Corp., Allston
• IntrinsiQ LLC, Waltham
• Memento Inc., Concord
• Mobile Medical International Corp., St. Johnsbury, Vt.
• Nexcelom Bioscience LLC, Lawrence
• NormaTec Inc., Newton
• Partners In Health, Boston
• Roca Inc., Chelsea
• Verdasys Inc., Waltham
• Zeemote Inc., Chelmsford
