PITCHING THE TECHNOLOGY
Zingr makes a software-as-a-service product that enables businesses to perform targeted marketing via text messages. The company says the opt-in subscriber service is intended to make targeted, SMS-based marketing quicker and easier. The company says it plans to partner with e-mail marketing businesses looking for a new service to differentiate themselves from other marketing agencies. Zingr says it is also developing another product that would allow businesses to target consumers geographically, allowing them to take advantage of nearby deals.

Who is on the management team? Mark Haddad, president, former regional sales director of Graphisoft U.S. Inc., former manager of product marketing groups at Autodesk Inc., and former military adviser for the U.S. Department of State; Corey Hamilton, vice president of technology; Matt Foster, product management director.

Last week, Zingr took up residency at the Amoskeag Business Incubator, a nonprofit, Manchester, N.H.-based organization providing office space and technical assistance to early-stage companies with an eye toward stimulating the local economy and encouraging job creation.

What’s the market size being pursued? Zingr describes its target market as the 1.3 billion mobile phone users worldwide.
