Imprivata IDs value in IdentiPhi purchase

Imprivata Inc. reports it has acquired the assets of enterprise security company IdentiPhi Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

Imprivata, a Lexington-based employee access management company acquired the Austin, Texas-based IdentiPhi’s SAFsolution product line, intellectual property and biometric patents. No financial details of the deal were disclosed.

Imprivata’s products are intended to secure employee access to desktops, networks, applications and transactions. The company makes an appliance-based employee access management platform called OneSign, intended to enables organizations to protect enterprise information assets while increasing user productivity.

In April 2008, Imprivata won a $15 million Series C financing round. Investors include SAP Ventures, the venture capital arm of SAP AG, as well as Polaris Venture Partners, General Catalyst Partners and Highland Capital Partners. The round of financing increased the software company’s total funding to $40.5 million.

Imprivata was founded in 2002. In 2006, the company raised a $12 million Series B round of funding.
