DRC to partake in $50B federal contract

By Brendan Lynch

Dynamics Research Corp. reports it has landed part of a $50 billion contract from the U.S. General Services Administration for IT management consulting, engineering and other services for federal agencies.

The GSA contract, which was awarded in 2007 to Dynamics Research (Nasdaq: DRCO) and 29 other companies, was protested, according to a Dynamics Research spokesperson. A federal judge ruled that the GSA had not properly evaluated the bids, and the agency was forced to reevaluate the awards. Dynamics Research was also chosen the second time, and it and the other 29 companies will compete for work under the $50 billion.

Last month, Andover-based Dynamics Research won a $3.7 million task order to provide continued program management and logistics support for the 417th Supply Chain Management Squadron at Ogden Air Logistics Center in Utah.

In February the company received a simulation and training systems development contract, for an unnamed amount, through the U.S. Army’s $17.5 billion STOC II program.

Also in February, Dynamics Research landed $3.3 million from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for quality control services on a biometrics system.

Dynamics Research was founded in 1955. The company reported a net loss of $1.25 million on revenue of $242.8 million for fiscal 2008.
