Teague said to be leaving General Catalyst
By Galen Moore
Technologist-in-residence Charles Teague is departing General Catalyst Partners, according to an online report.
Blogger Scott Kirsner reported on website innoeco.com Teague’s departure late Wednesday, the same day General Catalyst announced it had hired Facebook founder and Obama campaign strategist Chris Hughes as an entrepreneur in residence.
In 2002, Teague co-founded Onfolio Inc. with J J Allaire, who co-founded Allaire Corp. with his brother, Jeremy, the founder of Brightcove Inc. Teague worked with the Allaire brothers at Allaire Corp., and Jeremy Allaire is also a former General Catalyst technologist in residence. Onfolio, which made an application for annotating and organizing web research, was purchased by Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) in 2006 for undisclosed terms.
As of Thursday morning, Teague’s bio was still up on the General Catalyst website. No one could be reached at General Catalyst to confirm Teague’s departure. Attempts to contact Teague were also unsuccessful.
Editor's Note: An earlier online version of this article misidentified Onfolio's co-founder. J J Allaire co-founded the company with Teague.
