Progress Software names Stowsky financial services director

Bedford-based Progress Software Corp., a supplier of application infrastructure software, has reinforced its intentions to broaden the company’s product reach in financial services by appointing Robert Stowsky as director, financial services sector.
Before joining Progress (Nasdaq: PRGS), Stowsky co-founded consulting firm Brook Path Partners, which focuses on trade life cycle operations improvement and process automation.
Stowsky currently serves as co-chair of the FIX Protocol Ltd. - ISDA/FpML Collaboration Working Group, as well as serving as a member of the FIX Protocol Global Technical Committee Governance Board and the ISDA/FpML Coordination Committee. He is also a member of the ISO 20022 Technical Support Group, the International Securities Association for Institutional Trade Communication OTC Derivatives Working Group and the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association Asset Managers Forum’s Derivatives Operations Committee.
Founded in 1981, Progress Software made news in September after it had completed a $162 million buyout of Ireland-based IONA (Nasdaq: IONA), a supplier of software integration technology. The company employs more than 1,600 people in over 90 countries.
