General Catalyst, John Landry, back Calif. startup Good Data

By Galen Moore

Good Data Corp. has drawn in two Boston-area investors, according to published reports.

The California-based company, which provides cloud-based computing infrastructure for business intelligence and analytics projects, has headquarters in Silicon Valley and offices in Cambridge.

Cambridge-based venture firm General Catalyst Partners and Boston-area angel investor John Landry have invested “several million dollars” in an extension of the $2 million seed round announced by the startup last July, according to the website Innoeco.com.

In an e-mail, Landry confirmed he has invested in the company with General Catalyst managing director Larry Bohn but declined to offer specifics.

Good Data’s initial investors included EDventure Holdings Inc. chairwoman Esther Dyson, O’Reilly Media CEO Tim O’Reilly and Good Data CEO Roman Stanek, who was also CEO of Prague-based NetBeans Inc. and Burlington-based Systinet Corp.
