Former KPMG LLP managing partner David Flaxman will join Netezza Corp. (NYSE: NZ) as chief strategy officer, the Marlborough-based data warehouse server maker reports.
In a statement, CEO Jim Baum cited Flaxman’s experience at Sybase (NYSE: SY), where Flaxman developed the company’s Sybase Replication Server, a data replication and synchronization software product.
Flaxman will report directly to Baum and will focus on strategies and opportunities aiming to extend business analytics capabilities to users across the enterprise, the company said.
Prior to KPMG and Sybase, Flaxman held senior positions at Fannie Mae (NYSE: FNM) and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (NYSE: GS), according to Netezza.
Last month Netezza acquired the data center auditing and protection company Tizor Systems Inc. of Maynard for an undisclosed amount. In November, Netezza co-founder and Mass High Tech All-Star in 2007, Jit Saxena, resigned as company CEO but remains on as chairman of the board.
For fiscal 2008, Netezza reported a profit of $2 million on revenue of $126.7 million.
