Brockway leaves Innovation Advisors for Stifel Nicolaus

By Mass High Tech staff

Doug Brockway has joined the Boston-based technology practice of the investment banking group of Stifel, Nicolaus & Co. Inc. as a managing director, the St. Louis-based firm reports.

Brockway comes to Stifel from Waltham-based technology-focused investment bank Innovation Advisors LLC, where he was a managing director. Prior to joining Innovation Advisors, Brockway founded and led SG Cowen’s Boston technology corporate finance group and also served in a senior role at Alex. Brown.

Stifel Nicolaus is growing its local presence, said Brockway, who joins Richard Giles, formerly of A.G. Edwards & Sons, who launched the practice in Boston last year. The practice hopes to help New England-based tech companies with their M&A and financing needs, Brockway said.

Innovation Advisors has served as the investment bank in deals for such local tech companies as IMakeNews Inc., BlueNote Networks Inc. and Ipswitch Inc., among others.

Founded in 1890, Stifel Nicolaus is the main subsidiary of Stifel Financial Corp. (NYSE: SF), a financial services holding company. Stifel Nicolaus is a retail and institutional brokerage and investment banking firm that maintains 201 offices in the United States and three European offices through Stifel Nicolaus Ltd.
