Sununu joins Boston Scientific board

Former New Hampshire senator John Sununu has been elected to the Boston Scientific Corp. board of directors, the Natick medical devices giant announced. The company simultaneously reported the board retirement of Joel Fleishman, who joined Boston Scientific’s board in 1992.
Sununu, who was elected as a director, formerly served as a member of the Committees on Banking, Commerce, Finance and Foreign Relations, as well as the Congressional Representative to the United Nations General Assembly. He worked 12 years in Congress, serving initially as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives in New Hampshire’s 1st District.
Before his political route, he held the position of chief financial officer at building control systems manufacturer Teletrol Systems Inc.
Sununu graduated from Harvard Business School with a master’s of business administration and from MIT with both a bachelor of science and master of science degree in mechanical engineering.
Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX) reported a net loss for fiscal 2008 of $2 billion on revenue of $8 billion.
