The Cape’s RTDC taps Jackson as chairman

The Regional Technology Development Corp. of Cape Cod (RTDC) reports it has appointed William Jackson as chairman of its board of directors.

Jackson is the former president of the Brown University’s Research Foundation and a co-founder and former CEO of Repligen Corp. Jackson replaces RTDC’s founding chairman, Bill Zammer, a Cape Cod business executive and entrepreneur.

The Woods Hole-based RTDC also announced the appointment of three directors: Harry Wilcox, a partner and CFO at Flagship Ventures; Donald Emery, a Cape Cod-based financier and entrepreneur; and Richard “Chip” Morse, Jr., an attorney, member of the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL)’s board of overseers, and member of the corporation of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI).

Last year, RTDC CEO Robert Curtis worked with the state Senate on drafting an amendment to the $1 billion life sciences initiative bill that ensured the Cape in general, and the Marine Biological Laboratory and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute in particular, received a share of the funds.

Founded in 2007, the RTDC is a nonprofit organization looking to commercialize technology from WHOI and MBL, and promote the Cape and South Coast areas as a viable home for technology companies.
