Interactive marketing company Razorfish has promoted Ryan Alderman and Patrick Frend from vice president to senior vice president in its Boston office. As senior vice president, Alderman is responsible for developing and extending strategic client relationships with a specific focus on the financial services industry. Alderman also serves as general manager of the 35-person Boston office, overseeing operations, staffing and office services issues. Frend is now responsible for ensuring that Razorfish delivers online experiences which satisfy brand, customer and business objectives with a focus on the automotive industry. In his nine years with Razorfish, he has helped his clients redefine their businesses using the digital channel.
Bedford-based market data and analytics firm Interactive Data Corp. has named Cort J. Williams president of the company’s sales organization, and Roger Sargeant, managing director of Interactive Data Europe, has been named managing director, international business. Williams is currently senior vice president of Interactive Data’s major accounts and business development groups. Williams joined Interactive Data in 1988 as a senior strategic sales representative. Sargeant has been managing director for Interactive Data’s European operations since September 2005.
The intellectual property law firm of Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds has brought on board Nikhil Patel as an associate, and has promoted Pamela Torpey to associate. Patel practices in the areas of computer software, computer hardware, optic technology and systems, wireless technology, and medical device industries. Before entering law school, Patel was employed with Textron Systems as a computer engineer and he also worked as a computer programmer with Electric Insurance Co. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science and economics, magna cum laude, from Tufts University, and his J.D. from Widener University School of Law. Torpey practices in the areas of biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemistry and medical device industries with domestic and international patent preparation and prosecution. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, cum laude, from Emmanuel College, and her J.D. from the New England School of Law.

Microbia Precision Engineering Inc. of Lexington has named Gaye Bok as senior director of commercial development and Sam Zeller as senior director of regulatory affairs. Bok was most recently director of business development at Synthetic Genomics, where she developed and negotiated research collaborations. Prior to that, Bok held various senior management positions including managing business development for Cabot Corp. She holds an MBA in finance and international management from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. Zeller previously served as director of regulatory affairs at Martek Biosciences Corp. Previously, he held various positions for companies including OmegaTech and Nutrasweet Kelco. Zeller received a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Minnesota.
HistoRx Inc., a biotech company in New Haven, Conn., has named Kathleen Q. Adams to the newly created position of vice president, diagnostics marketing, and has retained Stephen D. Chubb as a strategic adviser to the company. Before joining HistoRx, Adams was marketing director of new technology planning and research for Quest Diagnostics. Previously, she held various positions in product management at Parke-Davis Pharmaceuticals, Schering-Plough, and Genetics Institute (now a division of Wyeth). Chubb will assist HistoRx in identifying and assessing business development initiatives and opportunities. Most recently, Chubb was founder, chairman, and CEO of Matritech Inc., a cancer diagnostics company.
