Clinical Data inks partnership in China

Biotechnology company Clinical Data Inc. has announced that its Cogenics division has partnered with SinoGenoMax Co. in an effort to expand in China, Clinical Data officials reported.
The companies did not provide financial terms of the deal.
Clinical Data (Nasdaq: CLDA) provides gene sequencing and expression services as well as biomanufacturing support, nucleic acid extraction and ‘biobanking,’ and services for life sciences companies.
Newton-based Clinical Data, which employs 459 workers, reported a 2008 net loss of $35.3 million on revenue of $34 million during its fiscal year ending March 31. It has facilities in North Carolina, Texas, the U.K., France and Germany.
SinoGenoMax, based in Beijing, provides similar services and has an established distribution system serving China-based customers.
