StreamBase Systems Inc., a Lexington-based maker of complex event processing software, has raised approximately $6.24 million in a Series D round of funding, according to online reports. The round included returning backers Highland Capital Partners, Accel Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners and In-Q-Tel, the investing arm of the Central Intelligence Agency, the website PE Hub reported.
StreamBase’s software is designed to analyze large amounts of data in real time. The company was founded in 2003. In July 2007, StreamBase closed a $15 million third round of funding. That August, the company tapped Chris Risley, a West Coast CEO with Massachusetts ties, to take over command from Barry Morris. The most recent round brings the company’s total investment to $52.24 million.
Accel Partners is represented on StreamBase’s board of directors by general partner Bruce Golden. Partner Felda Hardymon holds Bessemer’s board seat. Managing general partner Paul Maeder represents Highland Capital Partners.
Contrary to the PE Hub report, Battery Ventures is not involved in any StreamBase fundings, according to a spokeswoman at the Waltham-based VC firm.
