By Mass High Tech staff
With news of $5 million in new funding from existing investors, life sciences analytical software developer InforSense Ltd. has also announced a shift in positions. Founder and CEO Yike Guo has stepped down to fill the role of chief technology officer and head of innovation, while David Bennett, executive vice president of worldwide sales, will take on the CEO position.
InforSense said it plans to use the $5 million in new funds to improve its technology and infrastructure, and to grow its product offerings.
As for the personnel changes, Guo will continue to serve InforSense as a member of the board of directors. New CEO Bennett has served the software industry for more than 20 years.
John O’Connell, founder of Staffware PLC, will continue in the position of executive chairman of InforSense’s board of directors.
Founded in 1999, privately held InforSense operates its North American headquarters in Cambridge and a European headquarters in London. The company develops analytical software for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, consumer goods, health care, financial services, manufacturing and communications industries.
The company made news in October when it closed on a pilot project in which the company enabled “virtual drug discovery through virtual outsourcing of data analysis” for pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline.
