Cambridge RNAi startup Cequent Pharmaceuticals Inc. has appointed Ted Hibben as chief business officer, the company announced. Prior to joining Cequent, Hibben worked as vice president of business development at Coley Pharmaceutical Group, a vaccine adjuvant technology developer that was bought by Pfizer Inc. last year for $233 million.
Hibben has also held executive and business development positions at Centagenetix Inc., Elixir Pharmaceuticals Inc., Pericor Science Inc. and Ontogeny Inc. He holds a master’s degree from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College.
Founded in 2006, Cequent is a privately funded company based on research developed at the Institut Pasteur (Paris, France) and at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School.
