ImmunoGen taps former Elixir CFO Perry for same role

Waltham biopharmaceuticals firm ImmunoGen Inc. has named Gregory Perry senior vice president and chief financial officer, company officials announced. Perry fills the role left vacant by Daniel Junius, who was promoted to the position of president and CEO.
Prior to his role at ImmunoGen (Nasdaq: IMGN), Perry served as CFO at Cambridge biotech Elixir Pharmaceuticals Inc. Before that, he worked for two years as senior vice president of finance and CFO of Transkaryotic Therapies Inc., which Shire PLC bought in 2005. Perry also spent his early career at PerkinElmer Inc., eventually as senior vice president of finance and business development, life sciences.
Junius has followed a swift promotion path to the top of ImmunoGen, having served as president and COO of the company for six months before his Jan. 1 promotion to CEO. He first joined ImmunoGen in May 2005 as senior vice president, finance and chief financial officer. The next year, he was promoted to executive vice president, finance and CFO.
An earlier interview with Junius revealed that ImmunoGen is poised to move from a research-oriented biotech firm to a development-oriented one.
ImmunoGen develops anti-cancer therapeutics, based on its Tumor-Activated Prodrug technology.
