By Brendan Lynch
The state of Connecticut plans to help aerospace company Composite Machining Experts LLC expand its operations in the Nutmeg State.
Governor M. Jodi Rell announced that the state Department of Economic and Community Development will provide a 15-year loan of $270,000 to the company. The governor said the plan is expected to create nine jobs in Meriden, Conn., where Composite Machining is headquartered.
Founded in 2002, Composite Machining Experts specializes in supporting numerical control programming, tool design and coordinate measuring machine programming for the aircraft and composites industry. It also provides on-site operator training for its customers. The company is a supplier to GKN Aerospace PLC in Cromwell, Conn. The company has leased a building in Meriden for its manufacturing operations and plans to hire nine employees over the next three years.
The Connecticut Small Business Development Center and the Small Business Administration are also supporting the project.
