Axeda buys Questra’s remote solutions assets

Foxborough remote service software maker Axeda Corp. has bought the technology and assets of remote monitoring software firm Questra Corp., of Redwood City, Calif. The combined companies, which did not reveal financial terms of the deal, provide remote service solutions with built-in “smart services” to replace break-and-fix maintenance.

The acquisition also combines the two companies’ partnerships, including Axeda’s partnership with Oracle Corp. and Questra’s partnership with SAP AG.

Axeda will keep its headquarters in Foxboro and its secondary office in Rochester, N.Y.

Axeda’s enterprise software provides administrative and technical communications such as threat image projection library updates, equipment and operator performance downloads, remote operation, and centralized system software updates, officials said.

Founded in 2000, privately held Axeda announced recently its hiring of former OnStar chief technologist Stephen Habermas as vice president of products.
