Scott Dussault appointed CFO of Demandware

By Mass High Tech staff

Woburn-based software maker Demandware Inc. has named Scott Dussault its chief financial officer, in charge of the financial and administrative aspects of the company.

Dussault previously served as CFO at Archivas Inc., an online storage management system that handles storage of “fixed-content digital assets.” The company was then bought by Hitachi Data Systems Corp.

Dussault also worked as CFO for medical device distributor Astra Tech Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Astra Zeneca, and prior to that, as CFO of StorageNetworks Inc. While working for StorageNetworks, Dussault increased its three-year startup revenue to $124 million and developing infrastructure to support 16 cities and 700 workers, Demandware officials report.

Dussault graduated from Stonehill College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration/accounting.

Demandware, founded in 2004, is one of several types of e-commerce platform developers that fall into the console category, providing software for online retailers that lack information technology support and prefer to buy technology on a monthly subscription basis. Customers include Bare Escentuals Beauty Inc., House of Fraser and The Timberland Co., according to Demandware’s website. The privately held company pulled in a total of $31 million in investment, from Cambridge-based General Catalyst Partners and Waltham-based North Bridge Venture Partners, as of June 13, 2008.
