SV Life Sciences adds Barrett as health-care EIR in Boston
SV Life Sciences appointed Kevin Barrett as a new venture partner focusing on health-care services in its Boston office, the firm announced today. Barrett’s appointment came along with Sarah Bodary and Gary Velasquez, two new venture partners named in the firm’s San Francisco office.
Barrett will be SV Life Sciences’ health-care entrepreneur-in-residence, the venture capital firm said. Barrett’s hire is a joint partnership with Bain Capital Ventures, according to SV Life Sciences officials.
Barrett was previously a founding partner of Commonwealth Health Partners, a Massachusetts-based consulting and advisory firm focusing on the health-care services and health-care information technology market. Before that, Barrett was an executive at PolyMedica Corp.
SV Life Sciences’ New England investment portfolio includes Waltham-based biopharmaceutical Logical Therapeutics Inc. and Lebanon, N.H.-based Adimab Inc., an antibody discovery startup. The Boston-based life sciences venture capital firm also announced Monday its participation in a $2.7 million expansion to Logical Therapeutics’ Series B round, bringing that company’s second round of funding to $32.5 million.
