Casenet appoints Kevin Brown to CEO post
By Mass High Tech Staff
Bedford software maker Casenet Inc. has named Kevin Brown the new CEO, effective immediately. Brown replaces former CEO Brian O’Neill who, the company said, will take on an “advisory role.”
Prior to joining Casenet, Brown held positions as president, CEO and chairman of the board at Amisys Managed Care Systems Inc., where he helped grow the managed health-care software business from $1 million to $68 million in revenue. He also served as president and CEO of Amisys Syntertech Inc., where he drove a 20 percent increase in revenue, Casenet officials reported. Following the 2006 acquisition of ASI by DST Systems Inc., Brown worked as chairman of the newly formed company, DST Health Solutions.
Brown currently heads the board of directors at CareSource Management Co. and works as chairman of the board of CareSource Michigan.
Founded in 2002, Casenet develops software that tracks a patient’s medical care, targeted at health insurance, government agencies, disease management organizations and health-care providers. The company pulled in its $7.5 million Series B round of financing in September 2007, under former CEO O’Neill’s guidance. The funding was led by HLM Venture Partners.
