AutoVirt adds $4M to advance data migration tech

Nashua, N.H.’s AutoVirt Inc., a maker of online data migration software for Windows operating systems, has added $4 million to its coffers through a second round of private funding.
The funding brings the company’s total private funding to $8.5 million since the company was founded in 2007. Investors include previous investors Kepha Partners of Waltham and Sigma Partners of Boston and California.
AutoVirt’s technology is a file virtualization software product for making data migration in Windows environments more user-friendly. The company has focused on “mid-markets,” which includes midsize companies and organizations. The product is currently in its trial stage.
AutoVirt was founded by its current CTO Klavs Landberg, whose work experience includes Datapoint Corp. and the Network Storage division of Sun Microsystems Inc. The company’s board of directors includes Jo Tango of Kepha Partners and Bob Davoli of Sigma Partners.
