Kraft Group eyeing Foxborough for biotech park

By Mass High Tech Staff

The town of Foxborough may be in line to host a mammoth biotech office park, courtesy of the Kraft Group.

The Foxborough-based Kraft Group, whose holdings include the New England Patriots football team franchise, is looking to establish a 1.6 million-square-foot biotech park located on Route 1, across from Gillette Stadium. Potentially, as part of the project, the town could receive state infrastructure grant money.

The story was initially reported in the Attleboro Sun Chronicle on Thursday.

The story claimed that Foxborough building commissioner William Casbarra and town manager Andrew Gala met on Nov. 4 with Kraft representatives and Massachusetts state officials to discuss the plan. The article also quoted Casbarra as saying the Kraft organization was already engaged in marketing for a tenant for the office campus.

Casbarra wasn’t available for comment on Thursday morning. Gala’s office deferred questions to the Kraft Group and quoted Gala as saying that he didn’t have direct knowledge of the project, and as far as he knew, it currently was “just a concept.”

The Kraft Group press office has not responded to a request for further information.
