By Mass High Tech Staff
Enterprise software company Attivio Inc. has announced the appointment of former Merrill Lynch vice president Alan Cooke as chief financial officer of the company. Cooke joins Newton-based Attivio at a time of progress in its expansion, product development, sales and number of customers for its Active Intelligence Engine, company officials said.
Cooke formerly worked as an equity research analyst at Merrill Lynch, where he was involved with enterprise software companies, including Microsoft Corp., VMware Inc., Oracle Corp., Salesforce.com Inc., Informatica Corp., Lawson Software and Sybase Inc. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Cooke held operations and planning positions at Oracle Corp. and McKinsey & Co. Cooke graduated from MIT’s Sloan School of Management with a master’s in business administration; from the University of Toronoto with a juris doctor degree; and from the University of Ottawa with a bachelor’s degree.
Attivio’s Active Intelligence Engine operates by combining search and business intelligence technology.
Launched in August 2007, Attivio revealed in February its $6.2 million financial backing at the time from a Swedish angel investor that Attivio COO Ali Riaz declined to identify.
