Cambridge-based Forrester Research Inc. has promoted Dwight Griesman to chief marketing officer. He joined Forrester more than three years ago to build the Forrester Leadership Boards (FLB) Marketing programs. Prior to joining Forrester, Griesman was the managing director of The Forbes Consulting Group’s Quantitative Analytics division, providing custom research and consulting services to Fortune 1000 clients. Griesman began his career in sales at Scott Paper. He has held a variety of senior marketing and research positions at companies such as Hasbro and Welch Foods.
Pepper Hamilton LLP has added Karen S. Ali to the Boston-based firm as director of diversity. Ali, a lawyer and longtime advocate for women and minorities in the workplace, will help to lead Pepper Hamilton’s firmwide diversity initiatives. Ali joins Pepper Hamilton from the New Jersey Hospital Association, where she was vice president, compliance & regulatory affairs. Earlier in her career, Ali was a senior attorney with the Resolution Trust Corp. Before that, she served as general counsel of Technology Applications Inc., a minority-owned high-tech company.
The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. has named Brian O’Connell to the newly created position of senior vice president and chief information officer for the company. O’Connell currently serves as chief information officer for Hartford, Conn.-based The Hartford’s life operations. He joined The Hartford in 2007 as vice president of information technology management for the company’s life operations and was later promoted to CIO for the life operations. Prior to joining The Hartford, O’Connell had a 25-year career at Accenture.
Biotech/Med Devices
Sharon Cload has joined Adnexus Therapeutics Inc. of Waltham as vice president, discovery. Prior to joining Adnexus, Cload was vice president, aptamer discovery at Archemix Corp., where she led a discovery group that identified two aptamers now in the clinic. She was previously at Anadys Pharmaceuticals, most recently as group leader.
Brian McAlpine has joined Capsule, an Andover-based maker of medical device connectivity products, as director of strategic products. McAlpine was director of marketing and product management at Emergin prior to its acquisition by Philips Medical. Before joining Emergin, he held senior positions at Siemens Medical, Draeger Medical, and Hewlett-Packard’s Medical Products Group, which is now part of Philips Medical.
Robotics
Kiva Systems has named Mitch Rosenberg as vice president of marketing, Chris Reisig as vice president of sales and Benge Ambrogi as vice president of product development. Rosenberg worked at Rivulet Communications, Imaging Automation, MultiLink, PictureTel, Kurzweil Computer Products and Automatix. Reisig most recently led worldwide sales at Endeca Technologies. Ambrogi came to Kiva after 13 years at Deka Research and Development, where he contributed to the design, architecture and leadership of a number of products.
Pharma
Millennium: The Takeda Oncology Co. has named Claire Thom as senior vice president, portfolio management, and Isabelle Mercier as vice president, marketing for the Cambridge-based company’s commercial organization. Previously, Thom worked for Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. in Japan. She also held several senior positions at Takeda Global Research & Development and Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America. Prior to Takeda, Thom worked at G.D. Searle and Co. Mercier joins Millennium from sanofi-aventis and most recently served as vice president of taxotere marketing. Additionally, she has experience in sales, clinical research and oncology product launches from Sanofi-Synthelab and SangStat Medical Corp.
