ePath Learning buys online Flash creator app Activity Spice

By Mass High Tech Staff

Online learning management company ePath Learning Inc. has purchased Activity Spice, a maker of web-based software that lets users create Flash applications for e-learning. Connecticut-based ePath has renamed Activity Spice as eActivity.

In addition to generating revenue by offering eActivity as a subscription service, ePath will be bundling it with its integrated Learning Management Service, officials said. No financial details of the deal were released.

Both non-Flash and Flash developers can use eActivity to rapidly create e-learning applications and drop them into any of their e-learning programs, according to ePath.

In September, ePath was named one of Connecticut’s “companies to watch” by the Connecticut Technology Council at the organization’s annual Innovation Pipeline Awards and Technology Showcase.

Among ePath Learning’s customers are J.Crew, The Vitamin Shoppe, the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association and the State of Connecticut.
