Ariad appoints Radaelli and Wilson to board

Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc., an oncology-focused drug developer in Cambridge, has added two new members to its board of directors: Massimo Radaelli, president and CEO of pharmaceutical firm Dompé International SA, and Wayne Wilson, an independent business advisor and certified public accountant who will serve as chairman of the audit committee.

Radaelli has worked with Dompé since 1996, when he joined as director of corporate business development. Prior to Dompé, he held positions at the Dupont-Merck Pharmaceutical Company, Hoffman-La Roche Ltd. and the Menarini Group. He is a current board member of Dompé Farmaceutici SpA, Dompé SpA and Philogen SpA.

Radaelli earned a University Degree in pharmaceutical sciences and Ph.D. in clinical pharmacology from the University of Milan and an Executive Master of Business from Bocconi University of Milan.

Prior to working independently, Wilson held roles as president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of PC Connection Inc. He also worked as an assurance and advisory services partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP. Wilson is a current member of the board of directors at medical device and diagnostics company Hologic Inc. and Edgewater Technology Inc., a technology management consulting company. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Duke University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
