Larry Letteney has joined Second Wind Inc. as the new vice president of operations for the Somerville-based wind energy data company. Letteney brings 20 years of experience in software, firmware and web services for startup, midstage and public technology companies to Second Wind. Most recently he served as president of HubCast, a web-based service for expedited color-managed digital printing. Prior to HubCast, Letteney led Creo Americas, a division of Creo.
Finance
Venture capital firm Battery Ventures has made four promotions on its investment team. Jesse Feldman has been promoted to principal, and focuses on growth equity and buyout investing. His investments include Consona Software, Healthvision, HighJump Software and Rogue Wave Software. Ramneek Gupta has been promoted to partner and is moving to open the firm’s Bombay, India, office later this year. He is responsible for the firm’s Indian investments in Tech Process, Tejas Networks, Travelguru and Highmark. Brian Lieber has been promoted to principal and oversees investments related to the firm’s entrepreneur-in-residence program. His investments include: A Place for Mom, Angie’s List and Omniture. Lieber will be relocating to the firm’s Menlo Park, Calif., office later this month. Brian O’Malley has been promoted to principal, concentrating on the enterprise software, consumer Internet and specialty retail markets. His investments include: Bazaarvoice, Coupa Software, TradeKing and World Golf Tour.

Accounting Management Solutions Inc. of Waltham has named Christine Vezetinski as business development manager in its AMS Business Solutions Consulting practice. Before joining AMS, Vezetinski led business development teams for accounting, strategic planning, software and other companies. Previously she served as a senior consultant for Touche Ross & Co. and Arthur Andersen & Co. She also was president and CEO of a security consulting firm.

Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc. has named Maria E. Cantor to the newly created position of vice president, corporate communications and investor relations. Cantor most recently was a senior director of corporate communications at Genzyme Corp., where she led communications initiatives for Genzyme’s oncology, multiple sclerosis, genetic testing and orthopedics business units. Cantor received her master’s degree in communications management from Syracuse University and her bachelor’s degree from Emerson College.

Chelmsford-based Captivate Network Inc. has hired Scott Lyon as vice president of marketing, Deanna Murray as director of content and Heather Frugoli as brand activation manager. Lyon previously served as the director of marketing and general manager for LATimes.com and has held management positions at Turner Broadcasting and Sony interactive gaming. Murray was formerly the director of programming at AOL and led the team that developed and launched new consumer websites, including AOL RED, RED Blogs, RED U and Project Freshman. Before joining Captivate, Frugoli managed promotions and events for Comcast Spotlight, a division of Comcast Cable.

Exari Group Inc., a provider of an automated document assembly and contract lifecycle management software, has brought on board Terence Lee as vice president of worldwide sales and business development. He will be based in the Boston headquarters. Prior to Exari, Lee held various sales, marketing and business development leadership roles at Fidelity Information Services, eFunds and IBM Corp. Before that, Lee held a number of sales and sales management positions at various startups and financial services firms including Smith Barney and Bear Stearns.
