ITunes reach the blind through Apple, Mass. AG deal

By Mass High Tech Staff

Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley is expected to announce an agreement with Apple Inc. for the computer and software company to improve access for the blind to its popular iTunes music store.

Coakley and the National Federation of the Blind are expected to make the announcement Friday at 2 p.m., according to a release from the Attorney General’s office. They will also demonstrate the new software.

The Boston Business Journal reported that the agreement is for Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) to enhance accessibility for blind consumers and students to the Cupertino, Calif.-based company’s iTunes music store and its iTunesU site, which is designed for college students.
