By Mass High Tech Staff
Monster Worldwide Inc. reports launching Admissions.com, a website designed to provide tips for prospective college students and their parents.
Monster, which operates an office in Maynard, announced the website at the National Association of College Admissions Counselors annual conference in Seattle.
Admissions.com provides advice for a wide variety of post-secondary schools across the nation. Visitors can find an interactive guide to better research and prepare for the college admissions process. Features include “Ask an Expert,” where students and parents can pose questions directly to a panel of professional and academic experts, who will then respond in a public forum.
The website also includes community discussion boards and user-generated school rankings that list the best schools for particular majors and fields of study based upon research conducted among FastWeb users.
Monster Worldwide (Nasdaq: MNST) is based in New York City, and its job services website Monster.com is headquartered in Maynard. In April, Monster.com struck a deal to be the exclusive provider of job services for msnbc.com. The deal includes the TODAYshow.com site as well as msnbc.com’s local news section, officials said. More than 35 million unique visitors browse msnbc.com, according to Nielsen Online. Financial terms of the deal were not released.
Monster Worldwide reported a profit of $146.4 million for 2007 on revenue of $1.35 billion.
